Add Your Own Photos
Using your own photos can make VOIS more familiar and meaningful. You can take a new photo, choose one saved on your device, or use an image from the VOIS Icon Library.

Take a New Photo
- Open the category where you want to add the card.
- Tap Add and choose Take a Photo.
- Take the photo.
- Add the person’s name or the word you want to use.
- Record the voice and save the card.
Photo tip: Keep the image clear and focused on the person or object your child needs to recognise.
Choose an Existing Photo
- Open the category where you want to add the card.
- Tap Add and choose the gallery option.
- Select the photo you want to use.
- Add the name or word.
- Record the voice and save the card.
Tip: Familiar photos often work well for family members, favourite foods, toys and places.
Don’t have the right photo? Use an image from the VOIS Icon Library. This is useful for words that are difficult to photograph, such as help, stop or more.
