Communication Should Not Feel Like a Test
Try to avoid turning every opportunity into “Show me juice”, “Press the button” or “Say it properly”. Instead, model the useful word yourself and give your child time to communicate in the way that works for them.
Model Without Expecting a Response Every Time
You can tap More while saying “more bubbles” and continue playing. Your child can learn from seeing VOIS used even if they do not press anything in that moment.
Follow Their Communication
If your child points, gestures, makes a sound, speaks a word, signs or uses VOIS, respond to what they are communicating. VOIS is another option, not a replacement for the ways they already communicate.
