A real-life moment
Bath time
You are running the bath, washing hair or getting ready to dry off.
You might model: Hot, Cold, More, Stop, Help, Wash or Finished. Add familiar items such as the childβs towel, shampoo or bath toy.

Focus on High-Value Words
Words such as More, Stop, Help, Hot, Cold, Finished and Wash can be very useful during bath time and can also be used in many situations outside the bathroom.
Add Bath-Specific Vocabulary
You may also include Bath, Wash Hair, Shampoo, Towel, Brush Hair, Toothbrush and Pyjamas, depending on what is useful for your child.
Keep It Natural
You do not need to model every step. Choose a few useful words while the routine happens and respond to whatever form of communication your child uses.
Tip: Focus on words that help your child participate, make choices and express needs.
Device safety: Keep phones and tablets on a safe, dry surface away from the bath, basin or other water to reduce the risk of accidental damage.
